Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! Fan Freebies

Today is officially Dr. Suess' Birthday and so to celebrate and kick off our March reading month festivities and Read Across America, I made this cute poster to display in our classroom window!

graphics by creative clips

It's a Fan Freebie on my Creative Lesson Cafe Facebook page.
Click on the picture to grab a copy if you like!
From there find the Fan Freebie tab.
Hope you can use it!

I do miss the grins and groans serving up green eggs and ham to my kinders and getting gooey making Oobleck with my firsties!
 Those were some great times!

You can download this freebie Oobleck recipe from my Dropbox if you feel like rolling up your sleeves for a little gooey green fun! Click on the image below!

What are your plans to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day in the classroom?

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Sequencing Giveaway

Hello First Grade Gallery Friends!
Last year, I blogged about all of the fun we had during reading month with our Laura Numeroff books and activities. This year, our grade level has chosen Eric Carle as our author to study during the month of March!

I just wanted to let you know that I have finished a fun little sequencing activity for the story every kid loves, The Very Hungry Caterpillar! The cards can be used at a literacy center or in a pocket chart for a whole-group activity. Even if you don't do an author study, it's a fun story to use in the spring with lessons on life cycles.

I found the cutest graphics for this! I hope you like it! :) Click on the picture to see it at my TPT shop!

As always, when I share a new item, I will randomly choose three to get it free! Just leave me a comment if you'd like it and include your email!

Getting Ready for March Reading Month!

Our theme for March Reading month is famous authors. Each grade level is selecting a different author for all of the displays and activities.

Here are some things I have been working on for the books by Laura Numeroff:

We are planning to focus on a story each week. Most subjects will be themed for which ever book we are working on that week. We will also have moose/muffin tasting day, mouse/cookie crunching and comparing day, a pancake breakfast pig-out and cat/cupcake decorating day and dog/donut day! Can't wait! I will post pictures of all of our crafts, celebrations and bulletin board displays throughout the month.
